Education and Experience
Dr. Rashid received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at State University of New York at Buffalo, where he received the Howard Hughes’s Medical Institute Fellowship Award. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Buffalo in New York. He then served as Chief Surgical Resident in the Department of Surgery at the University of Buffalo. Dr. Rashid is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP).
He comes to central Illinois from Montefiore Medical Center which is affiliated with Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, New York where Dr. Rashid was a Plastic Surgery Fellow in the Division of Plastic Surgery. In addition to ongoing research, Dr. Rashid is well-published.
Outside Interests
In addition to his professional endeavors, he has volunteered at Habitat for Humanity and the free South Buffalo Medical Clinic caring for an underserved population. Dr. Rashid’s wife is a hand surgeon at a Peoria orthopaedic practice. They have one son.
